Conceptualization
The theme of Fall 2017's thesis project was "Beyond". Being interested in philosophy as well as art, I chose to conceptualize around these areas. For me, to go beyond is to transcend our being. The medium through which I exist and create is the flesh, yet I aim to transcend it, to go deeper within myself. Art is the medium through which I wish to affirm my existence. To explore this concept, I delved into the philosophy of Existentialism and interpreted it in a personal, intimate manner. Below are snapshots of my brainstorming process which culminated in the title "Beyond the Flesh".
